The Story

The Vinyl Factory is set to present The ADA project by Conrad Shawcross, a truly rare exhibition combining an industrial robot and music to create four unique choreographies.

Conrad Shawcross takes a new approach to commissioning music, reversing the traditional process, so that a industrial robot dances providing the inspiration and parameters for the music. Collaborating with four renowned female musicians who have created work in response to the movements of the robot which has been hacked and programmed by the artist creating four unique routines.

The private view taking place on the 10th of October will show Dillion Clervauz, Mira Calix, Tamara Brnett Herrin and Mylo perform their composition live to the movements of the robot and each composition will be pressed by the Vinyl Factory as one of four limited edition laser etched 12” vinyl records, each accompanied by one of four atrist’s prints, hand signed and numbered by Conrad Shawcross.
