The UK’s annual contemporary graphic arts festival returns to Somerset House for its sixth year. Pick Me Up will feature a fresh line-up of artists and designers in 2015. They will present and produce new work in front of those in attendance. The festival will offer new opportunities to engage and learn about different working processes and techniques. These range from traditional screen-printing to animation and rinsograph printing. Both emerging and established talent will set up interactive workspaces at Somerset House for the 12 days of the festival. You can also get your hands on limited edition prints and accessories. These will be on sale throughout the fair with prices ranging from £5 to £200.

Located at the heart of the festival in 2015 will be Pick Me Up Platform. This will present a vibrant programme of debates, presentations and demonstrations. Discussions will explore a variety of issues on current trends and problems facing the graphic art community in the years to come. A particular highlight for this section will be the UK premiere of thought-provoking documentary Made You Look. This much anticipated film provides a rare insight into the UK’s top creative talent at work and play in a hyper-digital age. It looks at how the climate for graphic arts has changed and developed over the last 15 years.

Pick Me Up Selects also returns with a diverse mix of 12 young artists. A panel of respected industry professionals and festival curators has carefully selected these artists as ones to look out for.  Many of the previous selects artists have gone on to achieve international success. This section therefore offers the rare chance to buy the work of a potential future star. A host of top international galleries will also be presenting works at the fair. All of this and many more events lined up make for an exciting festival that promises to be even better than last years.
