The award-winning Build Africa is hosting an evening of live music, food and festive activities for Londoners looking to experience Christmas to the full, including the elation and virtue of giving. Held at the striking Christ Church Spitalfields, a mere stone’s throw away from Liverpool Street Station, the talent and meaningfulness of the Christmas Carol Concert is certain to bring unbridled wonder, warmth and worth to a captivated audience.
The wonderful London Community Gospel Choir is set to perform a selection of beautiful Christmas carols and songs in their unique, uplifting style. As well as stirring up nostalgia, the performance will add a new dimension to the classics. Also joining the show are actress Penelope Wilton, OBE, and BBC news presenter Clive Myrie. There will even be special guest performances from none other than Joss Stone and Mica Paris.
A warming mulled wine and mince pie reception will follow the concert. Here, there will not only be the opportunity to meet some of the Build Africa patrons and learn more about the charity, but also the chance to participate in as yet undisclosed festive activities.
The worthy Build Africa charity works in rural Kenya and Uganda in remote and overlooked communities that are rife with poverty. Their vision for these places in Africa is of happy families leading fulfilling lives. Using the funds raised from the concert and reception, Build Africa will keep striving to make their goal a reality by providing skills, knowledge and opportunities for these families who are in great need.
Tickets for the concert and reception together are £65, or you can buy tickets for the concert only at £35. Whichever you opt for, head to the church in time for the concert to start at 7pm on Wednesday 16th December for a magical and priceless evening.
